Klappvisier Bascinet c. 1370 GDFB
On this type the development from the early Bacinets with the movable nasal towards the visor helmets is clearly visible. Thus Klappvisier is not attached with hinges but a bolt on the forehead. In combination with an avantail the Klappvisier could be hung loose when it wasn`t needed. The original can be found in the Valeria Museum, Sitten (Swizerland)) Handbeaten out of 2mm (14 gauge) steel, then welded and polished. It has an adjustable, spider style leather liner.
