Our lady of Tombelaine Pewter Badge
Our lady of Tombelaine
Early fifteenth century. The shrine was on a tiny island near the coast of Normandy,
very near Mont-Saint-Michel, where a church devoted to the cult of the Virgin became a focus for pilgrimage.
This badge shows the seated Virgin, crowned and in an elaborately patterned dress.
To her left is the Flower of Innocence and to her right is a fully clothed infant Christ
